Santa

Lucas and his Daddy went to a holiday open house for the real estate agency that Judy works for. Judy actually got him to sit in Santa's lap. He just looked so serious. Anyway, the pictures turned out great. He also made his first craft. He made a snowman Christmas ornament and an angel tree topper. They are so cute.

Lucas has decided that he likes wearing his hat when we go out into the cold. He's funny. He has to put it on by himself and he's so proud of it. The other night, he wanted to pose for pictures. I got a few in his hat and a couple in front of the tree.

The Innocence of Christmas

Lucas is really enjoying Christmas this year. He tells everyone "Merry Ho Ho". He can't quite say Christmas yet. He loves watching the carousel go around. He has named all of the little people that are on it. The whole family has a seat on that carousel. Tonight, he took Judy's Christmas present to her, then we went and saw one of my friend's new baby. We then went to the live nativity scene. We didn't spend very long there, it was just too cold. I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning this year. We've been telling him about the real meaning of Christmas. Tonight, when I was telling him about Jesus, he started looking up and pointing at the sky. It was like he was trying to tell me about it. He's so smart and so sweet.

"Baby do it"

Lucas has figured out how to put on his own jeans. Only one problem, he can't quite get to the zipper. He was so funny when he came into the living room to show me that he could put on his own jeans. He was so proud. I didn't have the heart to tell him they were on backwards.

Touchdown

It appears that Lucas' favorite sport is football. He can spot a football or a football game a mile away. He's even learned what to do when there's a touchdown. So, now we run through the house yelling touchdown when he goes to the potty. He's so funny.

ICE

Saturday, we spent the night in Nashville with Gigi and Papaw. We went to Opry Mills (craziness!!!), and to see the lights at Opryland Hotel. On Sunday, we went and had an amazing breakfast at Loveless Cafe. Lucas even ate like a pig! Then, we went to Ice. We all were suited up in huge parkas. We soon discovered why. It was freezing in there. Lucas was amazed at all of the ice. This year, the theme is The Grinch. It's really hard to believe that it's made completely of ice. It's beautiful. There were 2 slides that you could go down. Lucas wasn't scared at all to go down them. He went down 3 times. I think that Papaw went down 3 times also. Brad went down once. We had a great time.

Thanksgiving 2007

This year, we spent Thanksgiving dinner at NaNa and Pop Pop's house. Lucas had a wonderful time. I think he wore NaNa and Pop Pop out. While we were there, we had a "first". Lucas went to potty and did number two! We made a big deal out of it.

After the dinner settled in, we went to E.O. and Nanny's house for supper. Lucas had a good time there too. He was so wound up that he had a really hard time going to sleep that night.

We are so thankful for Lucas. We waited a long time for him and he is such a joy!!! I don't remember what we ever did without him.We are thankful for our family and that our family is healthy and close. We are thankful for all of the little blessings in our life and the big blessings alike. We have a very blessed life together.

Christmas in the Park

Last Tuesday, we went to the opening night of Christmas in the Park at Freeman Lake. It was a great night, not too cold. After downing a whole hotdog, we went for a walk through part of the park and then drove through the rest. Lucas really enjoyed it. His reaction was "Oh wow wee Mommy". He's really enjoying the lights this year. I tried to take pics, but they didn't turn out too great.

Potty Time

Lucas went pee-pee in the potty!!! After his bath last night, he said he had to pee-pee. So, we went to the big toilet and he sat on it. After sitting there a minute, he tinkled!!!! We are so proud. Me and Lucas ran through the house yelling "YEAH", then we sang the potty song. He loved it. This morning, when he got up, he told me he had to pee-pee. Again, we went to the potty and he did it again!!! Now, he's pee-peed 4 times in the potty. Of course, he's soaked his big boy undies a couple of times too. I think we're onto something here. We'll keep trying!!!

Oh Christmas Tree

We decided to put the Christmas tree up a little early. I really wasn't sure how Lucas would react this year. I thought he may try to climb it. Well, he decided to had to get under it and work on it. He's so funny. I haven't caught him pulling anything off of it, but I did find a couple of Halloween flashlights placed in the middle of it.

Like Mother, Like Son?????

Lucas was amazed when I got out my tall boots. He just had to give them a try. He actually did an o.k. job walking in them.

Happy Halloween!!!!

Lucas really enjoyed Halloween this year. He's the cutest little pirate I've ever seen. He started his evening by visiting me at work, where Rita had a halloween treat bag for him. He loved the glasses in the bag. He got a lot of candy there.

He really got the hang of going to the doors to get candy. He even went to a few doors twice. We have a great neighborhood for Halloween. I bet we could easily have 100 trick-or-treaters in a 3 hour time frame. Lucas was a bit curious about some of the costumes. He wasn't too sure about some of them.

Kristen went trick-or-treating with him for a little while. He's like melted butter around her. He'll do anything for her. It's really funny.

After going around the neighborhood, we went to see our friends, Ervin and Sharon. Lucas got more candy there. He really likes going to Ervin's house. There's lots of glass and things for him to play with. It makes me nervous, but Ervin doesn't seem to mind.

He was really hyper with all of the suger he ate today, but now he's gone night-night and is sound asleep. It was really fun watching him this year. I'm sure that next year will be even more fun.

Lucas' 2nd Birthday Party

We all had a great time at Lucas' 2nd Birthday Party yesterday. Lucas, Buzzy, Kristen, and Kaylea all had fun in the bouncy house. I think that Brad, Gigi and Papaw had a lot of fun in it too. Do I see another bouncy house in the future for their birthday?

Lucas had a lot of fun opening his presents and even tried to hit the pinata. So did Buzzy and Kaylea. We eventually just had to tear it open to get the candy out. Buzzy knows how to protect his candy. He just sat on it!!! I'll have to remember that.

It's always nice when family gets together. Everyone made it through the party with little or no injuries (right Cathy and Leslie???). Lucas loves all of his toys and was sad when his bouncy house was taken away last night. Now, we just have a lot of leftover cake to eat. Lucas wants it for every meal!!! Ah, the joys of being little.

Early Birthday Party

Today, Lucas had an early birthday party at Judy's house. It ended up just being him, Blakeyn, the baby (Audrey) and Judy. They had all of the cupcake cake to themselves. It looks like he really enjoyed himself.

We are so lucky to have Judy. Lucas loves being there and loves Judy and her whole family. He's crazy about them. They are like part of our family. It will be very hard someday when he has to go to school. We just won't think about that yet. He is only 2 (almost)!!!

We're looking forward to the big birthday party this weekend. Hopefully, the yard will dry out by Sunday.

Is He or Isn't He???

Can anyone guess if Lucas is really asleep?
Nope, he's just faking being "night-night". Every night when it's bath time, we have to go through the fake "night-night". He's so funny.

Boys Will Be Boys!!!

GiGi and Papaw brought Lucas' birthday present a little early this year. They got him a swingset. Brad and Papaw spent Saturday evening and this morning putting it together. Lucas LOVES it!!! All he wants to do is swing. It seemed that Brad and Papaw wanted to do some swinging themselves. Reliving their childhood???

Fall????? Weekend

We spent Saturday at Huber's in Indiana. We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch where we picked out the perfect pumpkins. It was HOT!!!!!!!!! What happened to fall? We ate a great meal and then headed home. We stopped at Saunder's Springs in Radcliff and walked up and down the creek. Yes, we were able to walk it without even getting wet. There wasn't a lot of water. We got a few good pics though.

Smokey Mountains

We went to Pigeon Forge for 4 days with E.O. and Nannie. Lucas had a great time. When we got there Saturday, we got settled in, went to Wear's Valley and then went to supper. Afterwards, we had to end the day with a trip to the Track for Lucas to ride rides. He had a ball on the rides. He's not scared of a thing.

We went for a drive up the mountain and over to Cherokee on Sunday. We saw some Bears while we were there. After Carol Lee and B.O. got there, we went for dinner at Applewood and of course, ended the night at the Track for Lucas to ride rides!!!

We went to the Aquarium on Monday with E.O. and Carol Lee. Lucas was really more interested in the moving walkway than he was by the fish. We spent the rest of the day at the Outlet Mall and the Old Mill. We must have been bad luck that day, because a lady fell down the steps at the outlet mall and hurt herself pretty bad and then, a waitress tripped down the steps at the Old Mill and dropped a whole tray of food. I'm just glad it wasn't one of us.

On Tuesday, we went for a drive up the Roaring Fork Motor Trail, then we went back to the room for a while. Brad and Lucas swam a little and ate pizza by the pool. After supper, we again ended the day at the Track for Lucas to ride rides.

We had a good trip. Lucas spent a lot of time with his E.O. and Nanny. He made sure he woke up his Nanny every day and told them "night night" every night before bed. We're looking forward to our next trip.
