Remembering Georgie

We've had a really hard day. Today, we lost Georgie. She stopped eating about 2 weeks ago and just kept getting weaker. Nothing worked to make her better. It's one of the hardest things I've had to do. We told Lucas that Georgie went to Heaven in the sky to live with Jesus and God. We told him that she was happy and well in heaven and is playing with all of the other cats and dogs there. Lucas picked out a blue hydrangea and we planted it by our house so that Georgie can look down and see the pretty flowers. We told him that when he hears thunder, it is her running and playing. Wouldn't you know that it's thundering tonight. Lucas has been pretty somber and is just looking out the window. He said: "I miss Georgie". Here's a few of our memories:

Vacation 2009

We spent 8 nights in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida with Gigi and Papaw. It was a great and relaxing week. We spent a lot of time at the beach and pool. Lucas actually loved the beach this year. He's still a little leery of the water, but loved the sand. The water was great until the last couple of days. Then it got a little rough.
We rented bikes this year. Lucas had the luxury ride. We even rode to dinner one evening. I think we'll have to air up the tires and ride at home some this summer.

Brad, Lucas, and I went to Gulf World in Panama City one afternoon. Lucas and I got up close and personal with the dolphins. He loved the dolphin show. After the show, we got to go and meet one of the dolphins and have our picture made. I held Lucas with in one arm, and held onto the dolphin's flipper with the other hand. I thought Lucas was looking at the dolphin until I saw the picture. His back was bowed back and he looked a little scared. Maybe a little too close for comfort.

The last night we were there, it was raining some. Between showers, we went to the fishing pier in Fort Walton Beach. The waves were high, people were trying to surf, people were catching lots of fish, 3 cranes were perched on the posts, and a family of dolphins were having a ball jumping, riding the waves, and feeding on the fish. It was neat. We'll have to go back next year when it's not raining.
We had a really good time. How come vacations never last long enough???
