Little Powerlifter

Lucas has started going in the garage to lift weights when his Daddy lifts weights.  He's so proud to be doing the same thing as his Daddy.  He even told me that he was going to treadmill on the other days.  He also does burpees at night with his Daddy before they get in the shower.

Pre-K

Lucas seemed ready to start Pre-K in his new classroom last Tuesday.  He was up bright and early and was ready to go.  He even had his homework done that Ms. Debi gave him at the orientation night.  He and I made a photo collage of things he did this summer.  He did so much that we had to do the front and back of the page.  He had his new folder and backpack all ready to go.  I hope he has a good and productive year.  It's hard to believe that he'll be in kindergarten next year.

Summer Fun

We've had a busy summer, but have had some fun times.  We've just chilled around home on some weekends, but we've gone places on other weekends. 

For July 4th weekend, we went to Great Wolf Lodge.  Kaylea went with us.  We spent 3 days splashing in the water, riding water coasters, making crafts, playing games, finding clues, listening to bedtime stories, watching fireworks, and just spending time together.  Lucas and Kaylea had a great time together.

Lucas has swam in his backyard pools.  We've run, walked, played tag, played red rover, and have raced in the backyard.  Lucas has spent time with his grandparents this summer and his cousins too.

We spent Friday at Holiday World.  Gigi and Papaw met us there.  We got there when it opened and left right before it closed.  We enjoyed riding rides, splashing in the wave pool, eating, and riding more rides.  We were worn out, but had a great time.

Pre-K may be starting this week, but we have one more summer vacation ahead of us.  We enjoy spending time with each other and making all of these memories for Lucas.

Hangin Out

We just hung out this weekend.  We just chilled at the house on Saturday.  Lucas barely got dressed.  On Sunday, we looked around town, then went for a drive.  We ended up at Saunder's Springs in Radcliff.  It's such a pretty place.  It's hard to believe that it's right in town.  It was packed with children in the creek.  We walked up the trail beside the waterfall, looked at the water and at the cave entrance.  I had my camera, so we shot a few pictures.  We may have to go back and have a picnic this weekend.

Proud

Lucas had his official 3 year old preschool graduation on the day before we left for vacation.  He had a pretty good year.  We're really going to miss Ms. Susan next year.  She has been really good to Lucas and said that he was her "star student."  I'm not sure who we will get for his last year of preschool, but I'm sure he will do well.  We are awfully proud of him.  He's growing up too fast.

Vacation 2010

We just spent 10 days at Seagrove Beach in Florida.  My, how a year changes things.  Lucas is no longer afraid to jump in the water and absolutely loves jumping the waves in the ocean.  He was covered in sand every day and even let Brad bury him up to his head.  I think it's time for swimming lessons!!!!  We even caught sand crabs and put them in his bucket.  One time, Lucas came up to me and said "That girl has crabs."  All I could do was laugh.  The 2 girls next to us thought it was hilarious.

We spent the time with Gigi and Papaw.  We spent most of our time at the beach and relaxed in the evenings by eating good and riding bikes.  Gigi copped out and got a giant tricycle.

I hated for vacation to be over, but we had a very relaxing time, which is just what we all needed.  Lucas told us that this was "the best vacation ever."  Now we are all home and have the sinus crud, but it was worth it.  We hope the oil holds out for Gulf Shores for September.

I know, I know

I know, I haven't been on here in a long time, so here's an update.  Since Christmas, Lucas has had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears.  He did good, but it was a rough week.  Who would've thought that a 15 minute surgery could be so bad????!!!! Anyway, he's much better now and no ear infections since surgery. 

I went for a week long training in Palm County, Florida.  Lucas got to hang out with his Daddy for a week and Gigi and Papaw tagged along with me.  It was freezing in Florida that week, but the beach was nice to see and breakfast on the beach the last day made it all worth it.

Lucas spent his first weekend away with Gigi and Papaw.  He did great and loved it!!!  We didn't know how to act.  It was so quiet here.  It was nice to see my husband for a weekend.

We went to Gigi and Papaw's house for Easter weekend.  The Easter Bunny visited Lucas a few times this year.  He had a ball looking for eggs.  We spent Easter at church and at NaNa and Pop Pop's house for dinner.  We had a good time and really need to get together with family more often.  We often take for granted the time we have with family, but it creates memories for life!!!

Holidays 2009

We've had a very busy and relaxing holiday season. Lucas had a wonderful Christmas.  This year, everything was "cool".   He loved all of the gifts that he got from everyone and from Santa.  He was a very good boy in 2009.  We loved spending time with our families and remembering what the true meaning of Christmas is.  Lucas told us about the story of Jesus' birth.  Here are a few pictures of our holidays.
