This and That

Lucas and I went to see our friends Jane and Butch. Lucas had a really good time. Butch gave him a huge golf club and ball to play with and some cookies. You know that they became fast buddies. Now, he keeps asking about where Jane and Butch are. We'll have to visit again soon.
Yesterday, Lucas and Brad stayed gone all day so that I could finish up my class assignments. Last night, I treated Lucas and Brad to pizza. Lucas had a great idea. They went to the pizza place in the mall and ordered us a pizza. While they waited for the pizza, Lucas rode the merry-go-round. The pizza was huge and had huge pieces. Lucas tackled the huge piece of pizza.
This is after eating some of the pizza. It wore him out.
Lucas went to his first concert on Friday night. Our friend's son, Chaz McKinney had a concert for the debut of his first CD. He's only 13, but he's really good. Check out his website: http://www.chazmckinney.com/. Lucas had to take his guitar with him. He loosened up and clapped and hollered. He had a good time. Now, he's really into his guitar.
He's really getting down.

Meet Buddy

Meet Buddy. He's our newest addition to the family. Lucas spotted Buddy today in Louisville and had to have him. He has wrapped him in his "bebo" and has rocked him and put him to bed. He was sooo cute. I have a feeling he'll be sleeping with us tonight.

County Fair 2008

Tonight, we all went to the Hardin County Fair. Nanny went with us. Once we paid to get in, we discovered that there were only 3 or 4 rides that Lucas could ride. They even decided that he wasn't tall enough to ride the same rides that he rode last year. We made the best of it. He rode the carousel 3 times, the strawberries once and the slide 3 times. After a game of fishing, we left. Maybe next year, he'll be tall enough to ride the fun rides.

Odds and Ends

Lucas decided he had to work on his firetruck. We knew he was being really quiet, so when we looked in on him, this is what he was doing. He was really serious about working on those pedals.
What's a backyard pool good for? Swimming.....Nope!!! It's good for filling up your waterguns. Lucas wanted a "Buzz pool" just like Buzzy's. So, we got him one and he hasn't been in it yet. Buzzy's going to have to come and show him how it is done.

Great Wolf

We went to Great Wolf Lodge for the 4th of July. It's beside Kings Island in Cincinnati. This place is wonderful. Lucas loved every minute of it. It's a place for kids of all ages. It has a large indoor waterpark. After checking in, we ate lunch and headed to the waterpark. Lucas headed straight for the waterslides. He started out small, but soon headed to the larger ones. He still doesn't like to get his face wet, but he didn't let it bother him as much as before. We did several rounds in the lazy river and watched Daddy get dumped on with the bucket of 1,000 gallons of water. We walked up the tree houses and tried to avoid all of the boobie traps. After a long day at the waterpark (Did I mention without a nap?), we got cleaned up, ate dinner, and spent time in the huge arcade. After cashing in over 650 tickets for toys, Lucas caught part of the bedtime story in the lobby.
The lobby has a huge tower clock. At night, the clock comes alive and tells stories and sings. The trees and all of the animals move and talk. He loved it. He sat in the floor and watched with all of the other children. He just smiled and clapped when they sang. After storytime, we headed to the outdoor pool for fireworks. We had the perfect seat. This is the first year that Lucas has stayed awake for them. He enjoyed watching them, but was getting really tired, so we headed in just before the finale.
Needless to say, he crashed hard and slept until almost 9:00 am this morning. After breakfast and checking out, we headed to the waterpark again. We stayed until Lucas just couldn't go anymore and then headed home. He had a great nap on the way home, so I hope he sleeps good tonight too.

We had a great time. This place is a bit pricey, but was worth every penny! The whole place is made for kids and Lucas has already asked when we can go back. Hmmm. I feel another weekend trip coming on. Maybe someone can go with us next time.

Like Father, Like Son

Lucas started the day out by wanting to be like Daddy. He insisted on wearing his "Daddy boots" today. It seems a little hot to me for winter boots, but he insisted. He has had his boots on all day. The shoestrings are a problem for him. He can't stand it if they aren't just perfect. Rubber boots are so much easier.
Brad works out faithfully 3 nights a week. Lucas usually stays outside with him and plays in the driveway and garage. Tonight, he decided to join in on the action. Some friends gave him his own weight bench, so he decided to lift a little himself. He really gets into it and makes all of the faces that his Daddy makes.
He also decided to go for a spin in his car. What did we do before there were cozy coupes?
