Vacation 2008

We just came back from 8 nights at Blue Mountain Beach in Florida. We went with Gigi and Papaw, and E.O. and Nanny. It was a relaxing week and Lucas loved having everyone there. The weather stayed beautiful all week long. Of course, I had to get burned on the first day we were there.
Lucas liked the beach a little better this year. The first couple of days, he would shovel sand and cover up his and Papaw's feet. He didn't like the ocean though. He wouldn't let the water touch his feet. We could hold him and go into the water as long as he didn't get wet. So, we stayed at the pools most of the week with a short daily trip to the beach. He liked hosing off the sand as much as anything.
Lucas did like his float this year. He LOVED jumping into the pool. In fact, he got a little too brave for me. He wanted to jump faster even if nobody was ready to catch him. He would only wear his life jacket the first few days. After that, he was a big boy. I see swimming lessons in our future.Lucas tried his hand at flying a kite. He did better than his Daddy did. He took off running with it and got a standing ovation from onlookers when it got in the air. He was so embarrassed and was running so fast that he didn't even realize the kite was flying. It was so cute.We went out to eat with Nanny and E.O. one night and met Donna (aka MoMo Boop). Lucas thought that MoMo Boop was funny. Now, everytime he sees her picture, he starts yelling "MoMo Boop!".
We also went out to eat one night with Gigi and Papaw. He had to take the moment to swing on the swing outside the restaurant. After eating, we went to Eden State Park to take pictures. We didn't stay long. The mosquitos were eating us alive!!!

The last night we were there, we hung out at Seaside and ate Frostbites. We had our picture taken together. It was also the Jazz Festival at Seaside and Lucas got his groove on a little.

He found the perfect toy to spend NaNa's money on. It's a plasma car. He has ridden it every day since he got it. Watch out NaNa, I think you'll have to ride it this week too.We had a really good time and Lucas still wants to go to the beach every day. Too bad it's so far away from us. Until next year.....
