State Fair

We met Mike, Alesha, and Kaylea at the state fair today. It was hot, but not like it has been the past couple of weeks. Lucas LOVED the "moo cows". They were huge. He surprised me. He rubbed the rabbits and pet the goats. Mike and Alesha's friends were there to show goats, so Lucas and Kaylea got to see them up close and personal.

Lucas and Kaylea rode several rides together. The first one they rode was race cars. It was an oval track and it went really fast around the curves. We told Kaylea to hold onto Lucas, so she started out with her arm around him. As they went around the first turn, it threw Lucas into Kaylea, so she held on extra tight. She had a real choke hold on him. He thought it was funny and so did everyone watching. She made sure he didn't go anywhere!!!!

They rode several more rides together. Mike, Kaylea, Lucas, Brad and I rode the monkey barrels together (like a tilt-a-whirl). Everybody liked it until Mikey got us going around real fast. At first, Lucas liked it, then I thought he was going to get sick. We stopped and he was o.k. The rest of us were dizzy and it was HOT in there.

We had a really good time. Lucas never napped and barely made it out of the parking lot before he was out. We're home now and have had our bath, so it's off to bed for us. Until next time.....

Horsing Around

Lucas discovered his stick horse yesterday. Tonight, he was running around the house riding his horse. The pole was a lot longer than he was. He looked so silly. He also kept trying to stand on his head so that I could take his picture. Then, he would run over and want to see the picture. He was a little out of control!!!

Yesterday, I was cleaning out his closet when I found the harness thing that Leslie gave me. I put it on and Lucas' Gigi put him in it. He looked so silly, but he loved it. He just hung out (while it killed my back). He almost looked embarrassed. He got mad when I took him out. He also discovered a pair of boots that Judy bought him. He had to wear them all day long with his shorts.

We moved Lucas to the guest room and moved the guest room to his old room. We got Lucas a full-size bed. The guest room is all done. I'm just waiting on Lucas' quilt to come in and have to hang a few more things in his room, then his room will pretty well be done. He likes his room. He's slept in there almost every night since he got his bed. I've slept in there some with him. When I give him a choice of which bed to go to, he chooses his. He does still get up in the middle of the night and comes to our room. It's a good start. I'm sure that someday, I'll wish he did still come to our room. He's growing up so fast. It looks like he's growing bigger every day.
